According to a notice on its website the airline suspended all operations while it was "winding-up" and the fleet of MD-11F?s has
been grounded since December 21. Based in Milan at Malpensa Airport, Cargoitalia restarted operations again in 2009, initially to some success, but the global slump in demand led to routes being cut and its sales functions being "reviewed".
